Dehidden at SXSW 2022

The Project

At Dehidden we look make use of every opportunity to add value to an NFT or make it s little more than just digital art. Our rodeos at live events stretch from powering community experiences fro Polygon at ethDenver to Phygital Tickets at NFT Pune. This journey brought us to SXSW 2022, an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences.

We worked with Polygon to power some really unique experiences for the attendees of SXSW 2022, from creating memories on chain and letting the audience be a part of the minting experience to airdropping quite a few unique art NFTs created by some of the most renowned artists in Brasil, Mexico, Portugal, USA and Chile.

The Polygon SXSW Photobooth

At SXSW 2022, the Polygon SXSW Photobooth was an experience that combined the work of renowned artist Alejandro Glatt and the technical capabilities of NFTs on Polygon. This experience was a glimpse into how the future of photography could look like and how we can immortalize our memories in the web 3 world.

How was this made possible? The Dehidden Live Mint Module

Live Mint Module

Using the live mint module meant that the user now got to witness and be actively involved in the minting process, making this an unique experience for both the creator and the user as the creator is able to share their art with the audience and the user is now part of the minting process which often remains a mystery.

The Live Mint Module was introduced at ethDenver and this time around we improved the module to add an upload from camera feature so that pictures could be taken directly and the hassle to upload the photos manually could be removed completely. These photos are then stored in IPFS which returns an ID using which we can assign it a name, description and other required information.

On the user’s side, the user can then see the photo, the QR code and a unique 6 digit code on their screen. Scanning the QR code takes the user to the minting site where they can then mint their unique 1/1 NFTs and all this is absolutely gasless

The Unique Art NFTs

Who does not like claiming some free NFTs right? well at SXSW 2022, the audience had the chance to claim 19 different NFTs from 11 of the most renowned artists from Brasil, Mexico, Portugal, USA and Chile. Let’s dive into how the Dehidden Airdrop Module was used to make this a smooth sailing experience.

Airdrop Module

We had 19 different NFTs that had to be airdropped to different wallets depending upon the preference of the audience, after some experimentation we decided that the Airdrop Module was the way to go.

The work of these renowned artists were displayed on different screens each with its own unique QR code. The audience could scan the QR code depending on the the NFT they wanted to claim, once they scanned the QR code, it led them to the site were they could claim the NFT. We then collected their wallet address and airdropped the NFT to their wallet.

The Significance

The use cases of NFTs and the impact that NFTs can have in our lives is unfathomable. With projects like these we take a step towards uncovering the true value of NFTs and familiarizing people with how NFTs in our day to day lives can make everything infinitely more efficient.
